Offtopic (and something to ponder over):

All sports we play were framed by the White man. Sachin Tendhulkar's two-innings One-day format is the first Indian proposal in any modern game that I know of.

I would like to add something to Sachin format: Each batsman should be allowed to bat only once. In baseball, in every innings 3 batters have to be got out. When a new innings starts, the next three batters go to bat. It goes in cycles for 9 innings with 3 batters to be out in each innings for a total of 27 outs.

Maybe we can allow the not-out batsman from the first innings to bat if all are out within 50 overs. Think about it!

hmmmm... so the idea is that we will have only 5 wickets to take instead of 10? So essentially we will have bowlers doing the bwoling and batsmen doing the batting, instead of everyone doing everything... sounds interesting, but then wouldn't that also mean that we are just modifying cricket to suit the format of games played by other countries?

I think the beauty of any sport lies in its inherent strength to test the various capabilities in a sportsperson. Changing cricket drastically because we want other countries to accept it, does it no justice. Changing it with changing times does make sense, but the essence should always remain. And I think the essence of cricket is how 11 people from each team battle it out on the field( for half a day, full day and five days!)

I did like Sachin's idea, but then that just seemed a logical extension of the test match format. I was surprised how no one ever came up with that idea in the first place!

Interesting observation though, about the framing of rules by others. Maybe it is time we take Kabaddi and Kho-Kho to the world level ;-) !

Instead of switching after 50 overs or after all are out as happens in One Days currently, you just switch after 25 overs to make it a two innings game. Whether or not an innings ends after 5 outs needs to be explored further. Not allowing a Batsman a second chance is not different from the the current format.

PS: Your blog doesn't allow me to comment from Firefox. When you feel like, can you pls look into it?
