So many points, so little time! :Nov 22-28

1. Babri Masjid in Ayodhya was demolished in 1992. And the then government appointed Justice Liberhan to head a one man commission to submit a detailed report. 17 years later, in 2009, the final report is ready. Before it was officially tabled in Parliament, it was very selectively leaked to media. And when all hell broke lose, the report was tabled in Parliament. And because it took 17 years to prepare the report, all of us had lot of expectations. We downloaded the 130MB (1000 pages) document from the Internet and started to read it. Then all hell broke lose again!!! The whole report looked like a high school essay in which practically every aspect of post independence history of India was discussed. And in the section that was meant to recommend action against conspirators, Justice Liberhan spoke about constitutional reforms, bureaucratic reforms etc. He gave us a lecture on secularism and various other such topics. What we all knew 17 months after the demolition, Mr. Justice took 17 years to document it! It cost 8 crores just in salaries/perks for him and his staff in these 17 years. Talk about waste of public exchequer!

2. If you think the report was funny, you should read the Action Taken Report (ATR) by the government here. The ATR is replete with two words - "Noted". "Agreed". Poor Mr. Liberhan. He must have been fuming that after his 17 years of "hard work", all that the government had to say was "Noted". Please do read the ATR, it is bound to lighten up your mood!

3. It has been an year since the gory attacks on Mumbai happened. In Parliament, the opposition asked why compensation has been delayed to the victims. Government accused the opposition of politicising the issue, and all hell broke lose. The media then forgot about the compensation and started asking questions like "Will our politicians stop fighting?". Very conveiniently, instead of debating the question, we started to debate the timing of the question. Wow.

4. Prime Minister Manmohan Singh visited US this week. No agreement was signed, a joint press conference was held in which only 2 questions were allowed to be asked. The first question to Obama was not about Indo-US relations, but about US's new policy towards Afghanisthan! And then one Indian reporter asked the PM when the nuclear deal will be finalised. He says, we are dotting the i's and crossing the t's. Please don't ask how long that will take. Afterall, the PM knows everything!

5. Amar Singh held the collar of a fellow MP in Rajya Sabha. The link is here. The news died very quickly, primarily because Amar Singh was at fault!

అదన్నమాట! : నవెంబర్ 22-28

1. ఈ వారం లో గ్రేటర్ హైదరాబాద్ మునిసిపల్ కార్పోరేషన్ ఎన్నికల ఫలితాలు వచ్చాయి. ఈ ఫలితాలు కాంగ్రెస్స్ కు షాక్ ని ఇస్తే, తెదేపా కి ఊపు ని ఇచ్చాయి ! మజ్లీస్ పార్టీ కి ఏకంగా 43 సీట్లు వచ్చి, కింగ్ మేకర్ స్థాయి కి ఎదిగిపోయింది ! పానకం లో పుడక లాగ పీఆర్పీ కి ఒక్క సీటు వచ్చింది లెండి! అదీ కాంగ్రెస్స్ రెబెల్ గా పోటి చేసిన అభ్యర్ది పీఆర్పీ నుంచి గెలిచాడు ! లోక్ సత్తా కి ప్రజలు మొండి చెయ్యి చూపించారు. ఇది ఉహించని ఎదురు దెబ్బ! మొత్తానికి ఈ ఎన్నికలతో స్పష్టం అయ్యింది ఏంటి అంటే, రాజశేకర రెడ్డి లేని కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ చాటికల బడటానికి పెద్దగ సమయం అవసరం పడలేదు!

2. ఎట్టకేలకు ఈ వారం సీఎల్ల్పీసమావేశం జరిగింది! జగన్ గారే సోనియా గాంధి గారికి పూర్తి నిర్ణయాధికారాలను ఇస్తూ ఒక తీర్మానం చదివారు. అందరు తల ఊపారు. సోనియా గాంధి గారు రోశయ్య గారినే సీఎల్ల్పీ నాయకుడిగా నియమిస్తూ ఇవ్వాళ ప్రకటన జారి చేసారు. ఇంతోటి దానికి ఇన్నాళ్ళు ఆగడం ఎందుకో మరి?!

౩. ఆంధ్రుల అభిమాన హాస్య నటుడు శ్రీ కేసీఆర్ గారు ఆమరణ నిరాహార దీక్ష మొదలుపెత్తబోతునారు. మరిన్ని వివరాలు వచ్చే వారం లో!

One year later...

The Good:

1. No terror attacks since last year
2. Regional centres set up for NSG
3. Increased vigilance, with policemen constantly on their toes

The Bad:

1. Investigations leading to nowher.
2. Pakistan is playing around with us as if nothing had happened. We gave them 7 dossiers so far, and yet they shamelessly say - not enough evidence!
3. The Prime Minister almost compromised in Egypt with Pakistan, before public backlash prevented him from going any further.
4. No one in the entire system has been held accountable for multiple terror attacks in the country.
5. Kith and kin of victims are raising many questions, but government is just ignoring the questions.
6. R R Patil is back as Home Minister of Maharasthra
7. Vilasrao Deshmukh is now Union Cabinet Minister
8. It might be trivial to many people, but it bothers me a lot that the Prime Minister of this country has chosen to be out of the country for the first anniversary of 26/11. At a time when he has to address the nation and update the citizens of this country about the progress made since last year with the investigations; at a time when he should be visiting Mumbai and be talking to the kith and kin of the victims of the carnage, he chose to be out of the country trying to ink the nuclear deal (which by the way is still not done). This image in today's Hindu speaks says it all.

The Ugly:

1. Ajmal Kasab is STILL alive and kicking, making demands for biryani too. It is a shame that we have not been able to hang him yet.
2. Worst part is that we don't know when he will be hanged!

So many points, so little time! : Nov 15-21

1. So now the Congress MP's want BCCI to revoke the life long ban on Azharuddin! First of all, what was the need to suddenly bring up this topic? Is it because Azhar wants to get into an executive post, thereby mint more money, in the 2011 BCCI elections? Why are Congress MP's so concerned about the ban on this man? He was banned for throwing away matches at will, and now we just have to show mercy and lift the ban, so that he can make more money? Don't the MP's have better things to care about?

2. Imagine the following situation is any country. The government announces a particular policy on an agricultural product. Farmers are unhappy with the policy and protest against it. The Prime Minister of the country calls a meeting of senior ministers to discuss the issue. That group would inevitably include the Agricultural minister of the country. But not in India. Farmers held a huge protest in New Delhi this week, and the Agricultrual minister of the country, Mr. Sharad Pawar was nowhere to be seen. The PM met with Home Minister, Finance Minister and Law Minister but not the Agricultural minister! The Agricultural minister also is the President of BCCI. Perhaps he was busy sorting out issues there. And yet no one in the media dare question this blatant absence by the minister. Because idhar sab kuch chalta hai :(

3. There is something very seriously wrong with Shiv Sena these days. The other day Bal Thackrey writes an editorial asking Sachin to just play cricket and not talk about politics. This was in response to Sachin's comment saying he is an Indian first, Maharastrian next. Quite expectedly, there was widespread anger from readers all over. Next, the Shiv Sena goes a step further and attacks the IBN-Lokmat office in Mumbai. How long do the goons of Shiv Sena think they can get away with such cheap and vulgar acts of violence? What really are they gaining by attacking offices of media? Despicable and deplorable are just small words to describe these mad acts. Plain disgusting. On a different note, I observed that while CNN-IBN was continously covering this story, the other news channels gave it a cursory mention! While the people unequivocally condemn any such acts of violence, the media houses shriek about freedom of press only when their houses are attacked. What stopped Sagarika Ghose from not going bonkers when other media houses were attacked in the past?

4. Jagan Mohan Reddy asked Rosaih why his father's promise of 9 hours power supply to farmers is not being implemented. Rosaih said that there are fund crunch issues and it might take a while before it is implemented. Then he says, why not scrap the Power GO no. 20 and bring back money from the private owners of power. CM calmy says, that GO was okayed by YSR himself. Howzzatt ?!

5. Rumours flew around that India submitted 7th Dossier to Pakistan regarding the Mumbai attacks. If true, then..well, yaawwnnn.

అదన్నమాట!: నవంబర్ 15-21

1.యువ నేత జగన్ మోహన్ రెడ్డి గారు పెద్ద హీరో లాగ ముఖ్యమంత్రి రోశయ్య గారిని సూటి గా ఒక ప్రశ్న అడిగారు. వైఎసార్ ఆశయం అయిన తొమ్మిది గంటల విద్యుత్ ఎందుకు ఇవ్వటం లేదు అని. మొన్నామధ్య విడుదల చేసిన జీవో నెంబర్ ఇరవై ని ఉపసంహరించుకుంటే తొమ్మిది గంటల విద్యుత్ సాధ్యమని కూడా సెలవు ఇచ్చారు. దీనికి రోశయ్య గారు ఇచ్చిన సమాధానం - ఈ నిర్ణయం వైఎసార్ తీసుకున్నదే బాబు! దెబ్బకి ఇంకేం మాట్లాడకుండా కూర్చున్నారు జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి గారు.

2. కాంగ్రెస్స్ ఆశ జ్యోతి, యువ నేత, భావి ప్రధాని శ్రీమాన్ రాహుల్ గాంధి గారు ఈ వారం విజయవాడ పర్యటించారు. ఎప్పట్టి లాగే మీడియా మొత్తం ఉర్రుతలు ఊగింది. నన్ను భావి ప్రధాని గా భావించవద్దని , భవిష్యతు ఎలా ఉంటుందో ఎవరు ఊహించలేరు కదా అని సెలవు ఇచ్చారు. అయితే, అయన చేఇన ఈ వ్యాఖ్య జగన్ మోహన్ రెడ్డి ని ఉద్దేశించిందని మన మీడియా విచ్చలవిడి గా రాయడం/చూపించడం జరిగింది ! మిగతా విషయాల్లోకి వెళ్తే, రాహుల్ గాంధి గారు తెలివి గా ఏదైనా ఇబ్బంది కరమైన ప్రశ్న వస్తే "అవును, ఈ పరిస్థితి ని బాగు చెయ్యాలి" అని చెప్పి తప్పించేసుకుంటారు. కాని మీడియా మాత్రం ఈ విషయం చూపించాడు !

3. ఈ వారం పర్వతనేని ఉపేంద్ర గారు కన్ను మూశారు. రాజీవ్ గాంధి హాయం లో అతి పెద్ద విపక్ష పార్టి అయిన తెలుగు దేశం పార్టీ కి లోక్ సభ నేత గా ప్రసిద్ది కి ఎక్కిన ఈయన, ఈ మధ్యనే ప్రజా రాజ్యం పార్టీ లో చేరి కీలక పాత్ర ని కూడా పోషించారు.

Without Advani's picture?

Elections for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Elections are due on the 23rd of November. All parties (except PRP) are campaigning with full rigour. Pamphlets are also being distributed in each house, and mine was no exception.

What caught my attention was the BJP pamphlet. Two reasons. First one is that the pamphlet actually talks about local issues and what the candidate will do about it (TDP pamphlet spoke only about the candidate, Congress pamphlet had only pictures of all leaders!).

The second reason was more perplexing. The pamphlet did NOT have a picture of Advani, but had a picture of only Vajpayee! Is this a pre-cursor of things to come? :)

20 years and counting...

There is no need to stress on the fanatic nature of the Indian cricket fan. And in recent times, there is no need to stress on the fanatic nature of the Indian media! A "great" player today will become "the dream that died soon" in no time! Some men have remained aloof to all this non-sensical stuff. And it is only them who went on to become icons and legends.

Topping that list is Sachin Tendulkar. His records are a delight for any statiscian, about that there is no doubt. They undoubtedly contributed to his longevity, but what conributed more to his success (and our pleasure) was his approach and attitude towards the sport. His dedication on the field (we quite often forget his bowling heroics too J ), his balance off the field, his resolve in coming back from lean periods, and his down to earth manners have all contributed in large measures to his success. That is what we have to learn from this man – focus on your job and glory will automatically follow.

To the spectator, any shot of his is such a pleasure to watch, but my personal favorite is in the picture below. It still perplexes me as to how such a shot can even be played! Many of us can not even dream of such a shot.

That he has entertained us for 20 continous years is a fascniating reality; and that one day he will stop playing is the harsh reality. Until then, let us enjoy the gems he produces time and again. Because, we might not get to see anything close to the genius of Sachin Tendulkar in our lifetime.

So many points, so little time! : Nov. 8-14

1. This was one overdose that I did not mind this week. Sachin Tendulkar completed 20 years in International cricket, and the media went gaga over it. But then, each time we saw him hit those amazing shots over the last 20 years, we were never bored, so just one week did not make any difference at all! Infact, it only enriched our memories and made me feel lucky to have been able to see him play all through these years. I will just continue to enjoy his game a long as he plays, and the day he retires is the day when the enjoyment will stop.

2. In UP, Mayawati won 10 out of the 11 seats for which by-elections were held. And yet the media kept on saying "Rahul Gandhi driven Congress" is emerging. I don't get it, if a party loses 10 seats, how is it the leader's credit that they are emerging?!

3. So, MNS MLA's beat up SP MLA in Maharashtra assembly. All parties religiously condemned it. And then the MLA's were suspended. Am sure, their suspension will be revoked sooner than later. And then we all will move on. First, we allow such precedents and then we rue the fact that politics has stooped down to such levels.

4. Speaking of stooping down, R.R. Patil, who was Home Minister of Maharashtra when 26/11 happened, was reinstated as the Home Minister this week. This single action speaks volumes about how low we can stoop to.

5. So finally the Karnataka crisis was resolved. Well, resolved might be the wrong word to use. The Central leadership gave in to the deamnds of the minig lobby and capitulated itself. The only saving grace was the CM will continue to remain in office. The Central leadership might pat itself for this "victory" but the cadre is even more sure now about the need for a change at the helm!

6. Forbes announced the most powerful persons list. Amongst the top 50 are Obama, Osama, Manmohan Singh and Dawood Ibrahim! What a combination, sirji!

అదన్నమాట! : నవంబర్ 8-14

1. "జాగో తెలంగాణా వాలో, భాగో ఆంద్ర వాలో " అని ఆంధ్రుల అభిమాన హాస్య నటుడు శ్రీ కేసీఆర్ గారు మొన్న ఆ మధ్య సెలవు ఇచ్చారు. ఈ ఉద్యమానికి ఈ వారం నాంది పలుకుతునట్టు కూడా చెప్పడం జరిగింది. మహబూబ్నగర్ జిల్లా లోని ఒక గ్రామం లో తెరాసా కార్యకర్తల్లు అందరు వచ్చారు. రోజు అంతా వేచి చూస్తూనే ఉన్నారు. అయిన సరే, శ్రీ కేసీఆర్ గారు దర్శన భాగ్యం కలగలేదు. ఎందుకంటే, ఎప్పటి లాగ కేసీఆర్ తన కార్యకర్తలను మభ్య పెట్టి, చివరకు మోసం చేసారు కాబట్టి! అందుకే మరి, ఆయనకు ఆంధ్రుల అభిమాన హాస్య నటుడు అని బిరుదు ఇచ్చింది!

2. కిందటి వారం ఏమో కాంగ్రెస్స్ తో పెతు కు సిద్దం అని చిరంజీవి గారు సెలవు ఇచ్చారు. ఈ వారం ఏమో కాంగ్రెస్ దుష్ట పాలనను అంతం చేద్దాం అని సెలవు ఇచ్చారు. ఒక పక్క ఇలా చెబుతూనే, ఇంకో పక్క బామర్ది అరవింద్ ని కెవిపి తో చర్చలకు పంపిచారు. తమ్ముడు పవన్ కళ్యాన్ దుబాయ్ లో ఉన్నాడు ఏమో, కనుక ప్రచారం కి రాకపోవచు ఏమో అని కూడా చెప్పారు. మొత్తానికి చిరంజీవి కి, తమ్ముడు ఏమి చేస్తునాడో తెలిదు, బామర్ది ఎం చేస్తునాడో తెలిదు, చివరకు తనే ఎం చేస్తునాడో తెలియని పరిస్థితి .

3. "గాలి" దుమారం బానే వీస్తుంది రాష్ట్రం లో. గాలి జనార్ధన్ రెడ్డి గారి మైనింగ్ కంపెనీ మీద ప్రతి పక్షాలు దాడిని పదును చేసాయి. అయితే వాళ్ళ సొమ్ము ఏదో పోయినట్టు గా బాధ పడిపోతూ కాంగ్రెస్స్ నాయకులూ గాలి గారికి తెగ సంఘీభావం ప్రకటించారు లెండి ! అంతే కదా మరి, జగన్ గారి సొమ్ము పోతుంటే, వీళ్ళ సొమ్ము పోయినట్టే కదా!

4 పదహారో అంతర్జాతీయ బాలల దినోత్సవం ఆరంభోత్స్వంలో దాసరి నారాయణ రావు గారు తెలుగు సినిమా ప్రతిష్త గురుంచి తెగ ఉగిపోతూ చెప్పారు. ఈయన ఇంత లా ఎమోషనల్ ఎందుకు అవుతున్నాడో అర్హం కాలేదు ముందల. తరువాత అయన చెప్పారు. దర్శకుడు అయన తనను నిర్మాత గా వేదిక మీద పరిచయం చేసారు అంట! అంతే లెండి, మీ వరకు వస్తే కాని, మీకు అర్ధం కాదు !

5 తెలుగు దేశం పార్టి, లోక సత్తా మీద తెగ ఆరోపణలు గుప్పించడం మొదలు పెట్టింది ఈ వారం లో. ఎన్నికల ఫలితాలే తెలుస్తాయి, తేదాప నడుపుతున్న ఈ నెగటివ్ ప్రచారం ఎంత వరకు సఫలీకృతం అవుతుందో అని!

Rs. 62,00,00,000/-

Rs. 62 crores

That is the amount paid by the AP Government to Sakshi newspaper last year for advertisements. In contrast, Eenadu was given ads worth Rs. 22 crores only. And of course, all the other papers were given much less than that.

So, the government very convieniently decides to blatantly misuse public funds to support the newspaper run by its boss, and yet we are supposed to take it all as part of the game. This does not qualify as a scam. On top of that, Sakshi newspaper anyway gave free publicity to the government, so it's not like as if the ads would have made any difference to the content of the newspaper.

After YSR's demise, Sakshi paper and TV have been continously publishing/telecasting negative stories about the government. It has become worse than Eenadu in its propangda. Just because Jagan has not been made the CM, the newspaper is going hammer and tongs against the government run by his own party! Withing 2 months of YSR's demise, suddenly everything is just screwed up in AP. Nice way of showing "obedience to Madam."

Bring it on!

Last week, Congress leaders in Hyderabad were involved in street fights on the eve of nominations for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporations. Even MLA's were chased by irate cadre and beaten up. Disgruntled aspirants immediately formed groups and started to hit each other. Some cadre even removed their shirts and protested (don't ask why, maybe they wanted to scare the hell out of those trying to attack them :D).

Yesterday, MLA's belonging to MNS physically abused an SP MLA right in the Assembly. The "sin" that the SP MLA committed was that he took his oath in Hindi. Wow.

I bet all these mischeif mongers are unhappy with the kind of entertainment being dished out on TV these days. So they decided to provide us with much better entertainment, and hence these street fights! Bring it on folks, for you are surely filling the void in our dull lives ;-).

So many points, so little time! : Nov.1-7

1. A compromise has been reached. No no, wait, it hasn't been reached yet. With respect to the Karnataka situation, this is exactly what happened every single day of last week. We are told a compromise is reached only to know later it was not to be! Every single day. The BJP's high command just doesn't seem to have a proper grasp of the situation. It has just been dilly dallying on this issue for too long now. Some 50 MLA's apparently resigned too, in support of the Reddy brothers. Poor Yedyurappa. He even cried on TV last night. The Bellary brothers have made his life that miserable.

2. Last year, Chiranjeevi announced that he will eradicate corruption. And last week, he entered into an alliance with the Congress. Answer to me this? How can you eliminate corruption when you are aligning with the Congress?! By the way, the alliance broke immediately after it was announced. The Congress party goons in AP were back to form after a long time. As soon as the alliance was announced, there was large scale protests, and Veerappa Moily announced that there is no alliance just hours after Chiranjeevi's party announced that they will ally with the Congress! After this fiasco, Congress announced it's candidates for the upcoming elections to the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation. And all hell broke lose! A MLA was gheroaed and beaten up. Aspirants who didnt get tickets were beaten up! All this was captured on live TV, and then very conveiniently rubbished off as a normal happening. Yeah right, it might be normal for you folks, but surely it isn't for us.

3. Finally a government took oath in Maharasthra. It took more than 2 weeks for the Congress and the NCP to come to a compromise. Wondering why the delay? Here is the story. Congress won 82 seats and NCP won 62 seats. So now you would think what is so complicated about distributing ministries, Congress will get a lot more than NCP. Here comes the twist. NCP contested only 114 seats and won 62 seats(54%). Congress contested 174 seats and won 82 (47%). Therefore the NCP bargained very hard for ministries. Now Congress gets 23 ministerial berths, NCP gets 20 (amongst these are Finance and Home). However, one doubt still lingers in my mind. What exactly is the purpose of NCP? I mean, it split from Congress and was established because it did not want Sonia to become PM. Now that she does not want to become the PM, why not just merge the party with Congress and avoid all this bickering?

1. గత ఏడాది, శ్రీమాన్ చిరంజీవి గారు అవినీతి ని ప్రక్షాళన చేస్తాను అని ప్రగల్భాల్లు పలికారు. ఈ ఏడాది కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ తో పొత్తు కి సిద్దం అయ్యారు. పీఆర్పీ ఎంత అధోగతి కి దిగజారిందో ఇంత కన్నా చక్కటి ఉదాహరణ దొరకదు ఏమో. గ్రేటర్ హైదరాబాద్ ఎన్నికలు కోసం ఒక రోజు కాంగ్రెస్ మరియు పీఆర్పీ పార్టీలు పొత్తు పెట్టుకునట్టు ప్రకటించాయి. మరుసటి రోజు మధ్యానం, పీఆర్పీ రాజకీయ వ్యవహారాల కమిటీ పొత్తు కి ఆమోద ముద్ర వేసింది. కోటగిరి విద్యాధర్ రావు గారు అయితే, ఏకంగా 2014 ఎన్నికల్లు వరకు కూడా పొత్తు పెట్టుకోవడానికి కూడా సిద్దం గా ఉన్నట్టు ప్రకటించారు. ఈ లోపల కాంగ్రెస్ పార్టీ లో లుకలుకలు మొదలు అయ్యాయి. జగన్ వర్గాన్ని తోక్కేయడానికే సీనీయర్లు ఈ కుట్ర పన్నారు అని తెగ దుమారం రేగింది. ఇదంతా చూసి హడిలిపోయిన అధిష్టానం ... అబ్బెబే పొత్తు లాంటిది ఏమి లేదు అని ప్రకటించేసింది ! చిరంజీవి గారికి బహుశా మొహం ఎక్కడ పెట్టుకొవాలో అర్ధం అయ్యి ఉండదు! ఇంత జరిగిన సరే, చివరి నిమిషం వరకు పొత్తు జరగోచు ఏమో అన్న ఆస తో ఆయన ఉన్నట్టు సమాచారం. అంతే కాకుండా మధ్యలో కోటగిరి విద్యాధర్ రావు అసలు పీఆర్పీ పోటియే చెయ్యకపోవచ్చు అని చెప్పారు. కార్యకర్తల ఆగ్రహం చూసి, దిక్కు తోచని స్థితి లో ౫౧ సీట్లు కి అభ్యర్ధుల్ని ప్రకటించారు. మార్పు తెచ్చేస్తా, పీకేస్తా, బరికేస్తా అని కోతలు కుసినందుకు ఇప్పుడు మీకు సిగ్గు వెయ్యటం లేదా చిరంజీవి గారు ?

2. ఇది ఇలా ఉంటె, కాంగ్రెస్ వాళ్ళు వెనకటి రోజుల్ని మళ్ళి మనకి గుర్తు చేసారు! గ్రూపులు గా విడిపోయి, బాహాటంగా కొట్టేసుకుని, మహిళ అని చూడకుండా కూడా చేయిచేసుకుని, బహిరంగంగా ఒకర్ని ఒకరు తిట్టుకుని, రాజీనామాలు ఇచ్చేసి, చొక్కాలు చింపెస్కుని, ... అబ్బో ఒకటా రెండా, అసలు ఈ వారం లో వీళు ఇచినంత ఎంటర్తైన్మెంట్ ఎవరు ఇవ్వలేదు ! ఎంఎల్యే ని కూడా తరిమి కొట్టారు. వైఎసార్ ముఖ్యమంత్రి కాకముందు పార్టీ ఎలా ఉండేదో, మళ్ళి ఈ నాయకులూ మనకి గుర్తు చేసారు. ఇంత నీచమైన వికృతమైన చేష్టలు చెసినా, ఎవరికీ శిక్ష పడదు, ఇది అంతా రాజకీయం లో ఒక భాగమే అని కొట్టి పారేస్తాము, మళ్ళి ఇలాంటి చెత్త సంఘటనలు జరిగే వరకు ఆగుతాం. ఎటువంటి సంస్కారం ని నేర్పిస్తునం అండి మనం ?

3. ఆంధ్రుల అభిమాన హాస్య నటుడు శ్రీ కేసీఆర్ గారు ఈ వారం ఎం చెప్పారు అంటే - తెలంగాణా వచ్చుడో, కేసీఆర్ చచ్చుడో !ఆమరణ నిరాహార దీక్ష చేస్తారు అంట! ఎప్పుడు ఏంటి అని చెప్పలేదు. చేస్తారు అంట లే. వేచి చూడడం తప్పించి మనం పెద్దగ చేసేది ఏమి లేదు లెండి !

God is on our side :)

Before you think this is an article on religion, no J

Last night someone put a message on twitter. Whoever wins, GOD is still on our side! This was referring to Sachin Tendulkar's awesome (u know, we all ran out of superlatives to describe him) innings in Hyderabad! Australia hit 350 runs. We were chasing it.

Indian team hit 347 runs. Sachin Tendulkar hit 175 runs in that. Just imagine. More than half the score came from him. More importantly, the manner in which he played his innings was fascinating. It was a treat to watch. I can go on with more superlatives, but I guess we all get the point J .

People keep saying this was Sachin of the 90's. I disagree. He was always like this. And obviously your game changes with time, so there is just no point comparing. We just have to sit back and enjoy the magic he spins from time to time. We are just lucky to have been there to see him play! Like the guy on twitter said – GOD is on our side!

Trivia: Yesterday, it was exactly 20 years since he was named for the Indian squad to Pakistan. And he came up with an innings of his and our lifetime.

3000 killed. None punished.

First of all, I want to congratulate CNN-IBN for telecasting two special programs on the plight of the victims of the 1984 Sikh riots. Actually, we are told riots is a wrong word to use, because in riots, both sides kill each other. In this instance, only one side was killing, and the other was getting killed. Massacre is an apt word. Only CNN-IBN found it apt to run these programs, which were very moving. It was just beyond comprehension to imagine the gory details being told to us. The political parties today are busy "regretting" the massacre, and are also taking solace in the fact that Punjab has voted back Congress to power. This news report even suggests that since we have a Sikh Prime Minister, the wounds might feel a little better. There is no bigger joke than this. Precisely because the 3000 families don't care if a Sikh become PM, President or wins the Nobel Peace Prize. Their demand is very simple. Bring to justice those responsible. What is it that we have done? No one is punished.

Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar have even become MP's, and are even now roaming scot free. It is difficult to comprehend how they are even able to sleep at nights. And what about all those people who ram amok killing any Sikh in sight? 25 years hence, is it really too much to ask for justice? Shame on our political system that imagines all will heal with passing times. Shame on it.

A day is not too far when a member of the first family will also "regret" the "Fallen Tree, Shaken Earth" theory. And we will be expected to move on.

So many points, so little time!: Oct.25-31

1. October 31st is also Sardar Patel's birthday. Not just the day when Indira Gandhi died. Let us please remember this fact too, and celebrate that a man called Sardar Patel once walked on our land.

2. The most wanted murderer/terrorist in the country today is Koteswara Rao. Surprised? He is now more popularly known as Kishenji, the Maoist leader in West Bengal. So, now we are respecting murderers, looters, and those who declared war on the Indian state. Kishenji is what his co-murderers call him. Why should we call him that too? We should call him Koteswara Rao only. Read this article, to know the experience of a reporter who went to cover the "release" of the abducted police officer by the Naxalite. The put a board on him, which read "Prisoner of War". They have declared war, and because Mamta Banerjee wants the government to wait to respond, we are all forced to sit and watch. Also, apparently Koteswara Rao "arrested" some journalists for taking photographs. Are we even living in a country where there are rules? So any citizen who is not happy with the government can pick up arms and start behaving like this? Koteswara Rao is a blot on the Indian society. Naxal problem is no more a social one, it has long transformed into a law and order problem. But then with politicians like Mamta Banerjee, and activists like Arundhati Roy, are we really surprised that the problem still lingers?

3. "Yeddy vs. Reddy" was a headline in one of the news portals. hehehe. Nice one! This was referring to the infighting in Karnataka BJP. The Reddy brothers, Janardhan Reddy and Karunakar Reddy, from Bellary want the CM Yedyurappa removed. And ofcourse Yedyurappa wants to stay. Reddy brothers are claiming to have the support of 60 MLA's out of 117. Yedyurappa's camp claims more than 80 MLA's are on this side. While the numbers are being played out, the AP government suddenly cancelled the permission given to the Reddy brothers to mine at Obulapuram in Anantapur Distrcit in Andhra Pradesh. Apprently, the Karnataka CM has asked this favour from the Andhra CM, to put a check on the Reddy brothers. And it is a known fact that the Reddy brothers are very close to YSR and his family. So the politics take a more interesting turn! With so much action, how can one not love the drama involved in politics?

4. Andre Agassi confessed to using some drug while he was at a low in his career. Well, I really don't have an opinion, but I guess this incident reinforces the fact that anti-doping policies need to be strong. Apparently, Agassi was able to convince the authorities that he took it by accident! Some people are demanding that he should be stripped of his titles, but... I don't know... whatever!

5. Read this article by P. Sainath in The Hindu. Clearly exposing some dirty deals made by newspapers with politicians. Not exactly an eye-opener, but it never was printed in a national newspaper.

1. ఆంధ్రుల అభిమాన హాస్య నటుడు శ్రీ కేసీఆర్ గారు ee వారం మన అందరికి బాష ప్రయోగం మీద జ్ఞానోదయం కలిగించారు. ఒక సంస్కరవంతుడి లాగ మాట్లాడడం లేదు అని అయన పైన వస్తున్నా విమర్శల్ని తిప్పి కొడుతూ మనకి కొన్ని అమోఘమైన విషయాల్ని ని సెలవు ఇచ్చారు. తెలంగాణా లో "బద్మాష్", "లుచ్చా", "బేకార్" ఇత్యాది పదాలు రోజు వాడుక లో ఉంటాయి, కాబట్టే అయన కూడా అవే పదాలు వాడుతున్నారు అంట. మా బాష అటువంటిది రా భాయి అని చెప్పి సమర్దించుకున్నారు. మొత్తానికి ee వారం కూడా అయన మనకి ఒక సూపర్ హిట్ సినిమా అందించారు. వచ్చే వారం లో విడుదల అయ్యే సినిమా కోసం వేచి చూద్దామా మరి?

2. ఈయన వ్యవహారం ఇలా ఉంటె, ఈ మద్యనే కనుమరుగు అయిపోయారు అని అనుకుంటున్న ఇంకో హాస్య నటుడు మళ్ళి తెర మీదకి వచ్చారు. ఆయన పేరు ఎస్ ఎస్ పి యాదవ్. డిజిపి పదవి నుంచి ఆయనను తోలింగ్చడం పై కేసు వేసారు. ప్రస్తుత డిజిపి గా ఉన్న గిరీష్ కుమార్ నియామకం చెల్లదు అని, అసలు ఆయనకి 2007 లో ఇచ్చిన ప్రమోషన్ ఏ తప్పు అని కేసు లో పేర్కున్నారు. మరి 2007 లో ప్రమోషన్ ఇచ్చింది ఈయనే కదా అనే అనుమానం కలగడం సహజమే. అప్పుడు ఆ ప్రమోషన్ వాళ్ళ తణుకు ఎలాంటి నష్టం లేదు కాబట్టి తను ఎక్కువ ఆలోచించలేదు అంట! బాగుంది అండి. మీరు రూల్స్ ఉల్లంఘిస్తే మిమ్మల్ని ఏమి అనకూడదు. వేరే వాళ్ళు ఉల్లంఘించారు అని మీకు అనిపిస్తే విర్రవీగుతారా?

3. ఎట్టకేలకు కొండా సురేఖ గారు రాజీనామా చేసారు. కొంచం రసవత్తరం గా ఉంటది అని, ఆమె నేరు గా గవర్నర్ కే రాజీనామా ఇచ్చారు. మరి కొంచం రసవత్తరం గా ఉంటది అని, లేఖ లో కమ్మ కులం వాళ్ళు జగన్ ముఖ్యమంత్రి కాకుండా ఆపుతున్నారు అని, చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు, సీపీఎం, సేపేఇ నేతలు కూడా కుమ్మకు అయ్యారు అని రాసారు. కమ్మ వాళ్ళు ఎందుకు ఊరుకుంటారు. వాళ్ళు చెలరేగిపోతున్నారు. మధ్యలో మమల్ని ఎందుకు లాగుతున్నారు అంటు తెదేపా, సేపేఇ, సీపీఎం వాళ్ళు చెలరేగిపోతున్నారు. జర్నలిస్ట్లు ఎందుకు ఊరుకుంటారు, అసలు ఒక కులం పేరు ఎలా ప్రస్తివిస్తారు అని వాపోతున్నారు. కొండా సురేఖ గారు మాత్రం, నిప్పు పెట్టి హాయిగా రెస్ట్ తీసుకుంటున్నారు!
