Before you think this is an article on religion, no J

Last night someone put a message on twitter. Whoever wins, GOD is still on our side! This was referring to Sachin Tendulkar's awesome (u know, we all ran out of superlatives to describe him) innings in Hyderabad! Australia hit 350 runs. We were chasing it.

Indian team hit 347 runs. Sachin Tendulkar hit 175 runs in that. Just imagine. More than half the score came from him. More importantly, the manner in which he played his innings was fascinating. It was a treat to watch. I can go on with more superlatives, but I guess we all get the point J .

People keep saying this was Sachin of the 90's. I disagree. He was always like this. And obviously your game changes with time, so there is just no point comparing. We just have to sit back and enjoy the magic he spins from time to time. We are just lucky to have been there to see him play! Like the guy on twitter said – GOD is on our side!

Trivia: Yesterday, it was exactly 20 years since he was named for the Indian squad to Pakistan. And he came up with an innings of his and our lifetime.

3000 killed. None punished.

First of all, I want to congratulate CNN-IBN for telecasting two special programs on the plight of the victims of the 1984 Sikh riots. Actually, we are told riots is a wrong word to use, because in riots, both sides kill each other. In this instance, only one side was killing, and the other was getting killed. Massacre is an apt word. Only CNN-IBN found it apt to run these programs, which were very moving. It was just beyond comprehension to imagine the gory details being told to us. The political parties today are busy "regretting" the massacre, and are also taking solace in the fact that Punjab has voted back Congress to power. This news report even suggests that since we have a Sikh Prime Minister, the wounds might feel a little better. There is no bigger joke than this. Precisely because the 3000 families don't care if a Sikh become PM, President or wins the Nobel Peace Prize. Their demand is very simple. Bring to justice those responsible. What is it that we have done? No one is punished.

Jagdish Tytler and Sajjan Kumar have even become MP's, and are even now roaming scot free. It is difficult to comprehend how they are even able to sleep at nights. And what about all those people who ram amok killing any Sikh in sight? 25 years hence, is it really too much to ask for justice? Shame on our political system that imagines all will heal with passing times. Shame on it.

A day is not too far when a member of the first family will also "regret" the "Fallen Tree, Shaken Earth" theory. And we will be expected to move on.

So many points, so little time!: Oct.25-31

1. October 31st is also Sardar Patel's birthday. Not just the day when Indira Gandhi died. Let us please remember this fact too, and celebrate that a man called Sardar Patel once walked on our land.

2. The most wanted murderer/terrorist in the country today is Koteswara Rao. Surprised? He is now more popularly known as Kishenji, the Maoist leader in West Bengal. So, now we are respecting murderers, looters, and those who declared war on the Indian state. Kishenji is what his co-murderers call him. Why should we call him that too? We should call him Koteswara Rao only. Read this article, to know the experience of a reporter who went to cover the "release" of the abducted police officer by the Naxalite. The put a board on him, which read "Prisoner of War". They have declared war, and because Mamta Banerjee wants the government to wait to respond, we are all forced to sit and watch. Also, apparently Koteswara Rao "arrested" some journalists for taking photographs. Are we even living in a country where there are rules? So any citizen who is not happy with the government can pick up arms and start behaving like this? Koteswara Rao is a blot on the Indian society. Naxal problem is no more a social one, it has long transformed into a law and order problem. But then with politicians like Mamta Banerjee, and activists like Arundhati Roy, are we really surprised that the problem still lingers?

3. "Yeddy vs. Reddy" was a headline in one of the news portals. hehehe. Nice one! This was referring to the infighting in Karnataka BJP. The Reddy brothers, Janardhan Reddy and Karunakar Reddy, from Bellary want the CM Yedyurappa removed. And ofcourse Yedyurappa wants to stay. Reddy brothers are claiming to have the support of 60 MLA's out of 117. Yedyurappa's camp claims more than 80 MLA's are on this side. While the numbers are being played out, the AP government suddenly cancelled the permission given to the Reddy brothers to mine at Obulapuram in Anantapur Distrcit in Andhra Pradesh. Apprently, the Karnataka CM has asked this favour from the Andhra CM, to put a check on the Reddy brothers. And it is a known fact that the Reddy brothers are very close to YSR and his family. So the politics take a more interesting turn! With so much action, how can one not love the drama involved in politics?

4. Andre Agassi confessed to using some drug while he was at a low in his career. Well, I really don't have an opinion, but I guess this incident reinforces the fact that anti-doping policies need to be strong. Apparently, Agassi was able to convince the authorities that he took it by accident! Some people are demanding that he should be stripped of his titles, but... I don't know... whatever!

5. Read this article by P. Sainath in The Hindu. Clearly exposing some dirty deals made by newspapers with politicians. Not exactly an eye-opener, but it never was printed in a national newspaper.

1. ఆంధ్రుల అభిమాన హాస్య నటుడు శ్రీ కేసీఆర్ గారు ee వారం మన అందరికి బాష ప్రయోగం మీద జ్ఞానోదయం కలిగించారు. ఒక సంస్కరవంతుడి లాగ మాట్లాడడం లేదు అని అయన పైన వస్తున్నా విమర్శల్ని తిప్పి కొడుతూ మనకి కొన్ని అమోఘమైన విషయాల్ని ని సెలవు ఇచ్చారు. తెలంగాణా లో "బద్మాష్", "లుచ్చా", "బేకార్" ఇత్యాది పదాలు రోజు వాడుక లో ఉంటాయి, కాబట్టే అయన కూడా అవే పదాలు వాడుతున్నారు అంట. మా బాష అటువంటిది రా భాయి అని చెప్పి సమర్దించుకున్నారు. మొత్తానికి ee వారం కూడా అయన మనకి ఒక సూపర్ హిట్ సినిమా అందించారు. వచ్చే వారం లో విడుదల అయ్యే సినిమా కోసం వేచి చూద్దామా మరి?

2. ఈయన వ్యవహారం ఇలా ఉంటె, ఈ మద్యనే కనుమరుగు అయిపోయారు అని అనుకుంటున్న ఇంకో హాస్య నటుడు మళ్ళి తెర మీదకి వచ్చారు. ఆయన పేరు ఎస్ ఎస్ పి యాదవ్. డిజిపి పదవి నుంచి ఆయనను తోలింగ్చడం పై కేసు వేసారు. ప్రస్తుత డిజిపి గా ఉన్న గిరీష్ కుమార్ నియామకం చెల్లదు అని, అసలు ఆయనకి 2007 లో ఇచ్చిన ప్రమోషన్ ఏ తప్పు అని కేసు లో పేర్కున్నారు. మరి 2007 లో ప్రమోషన్ ఇచ్చింది ఈయనే కదా అనే అనుమానం కలగడం సహజమే. అప్పుడు ఆ ప్రమోషన్ వాళ్ళ తణుకు ఎలాంటి నష్టం లేదు కాబట్టి తను ఎక్కువ ఆలోచించలేదు అంట! బాగుంది అండి. మీరు రూల్స్ ఉల్లంఘిస్తే మిమ్మల్ని ఏమి అనకూడదు. వేరే వాళ్ళు ఉల్లంఘించారు అని మీకు అనిపిస్తే విర్రవీగుతారా?

3. ఎట్టకేలకు కొండా సురేఖ గారు రాజీనామా చేసారు. కొంచం రసవత్తరం గా ఉంటది అని, ఆమె నేరు గా గవర్నర్ కే రాజీనామా ఇచ్చారు. మరి కొంచం రసవత్తరం గా ఉంటది అని, లేఖ లో కమ్మ కులం వాళ్ళు జగన్ ముఖ్యమంత్రి కాకుండా ఆపుతున్నారు అని, చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు, సీపీఎం, సేపేఇ నేతలు కూడా కుమ్మకు అయ్యారు అని రాసారు. కమ్మ వాళ్ళు ఎందుకు ఊరుకుంటారు. వాళ్ళు చెలరేగిపోతున్నారు. మధ్యలో మమల్ని ఎందుకు లాగుతున్నారు అంటు తెదేపా, సేపేఇ, సీపీఎం వాళ్ళు చెలరేగిపోతున్నారు. జర్నలిస్ట్లు ఎందుకు ఊరుకుంటారు, అసలు ఒక కులం పేరు ఎలా ప్రస్తివిస్తారు అని వాపోతున్నారు. కొండా సురేఖ గారు మాత్రం, నిప్పు పెట్టి హాయిగా రెస్ట్ తీసుకుంటున్నారు!

Ah, here comes the peace offer, yet again!

I mean, doesn't he get tired? Why is he so desperate to leave a legacy? It's not that I do't want peace, but seriously let's be practical. Is it really possible to talk to Pakistan at this juncture? What will we talk about? The same old stuff right – you act on terrorism, we will then talk. Or maybe we should just talk Kababs and Biryanis, and call the meeting fruitful!

Anyway, it just beats me as to why our Prime Minister so eager to talk to Pakistan?

So many points, so little time!: Oct. 18-24

1. This blogs favorite Sagarika Ghose is back to form! Vasundhara Raje had to resign this week as the leader of the legislature party of BJP in Rajasthan. And them almost immediately, someone on twitter started tweeting as Vasundhara Raje. Without even bothering to verify whether the account is genuine or not, she writes this. "@VasuRaje hang in there, ma'am.don't think the patriarchs know how to deal with modern women politicians". I am sure she must have celebrated the fact that he got to pontificate again. And then CNN-IBN also ran a story saying Raje is tweeting. And then it was revealed that the account is a fake one! Will Sagarika bother to withdraw her comment? Hang in there, ma'am?!? You really think she was sacked because of being a woman? I mean, what goes on in your mind, Sagarika?!

Ohh, by the way, she also asked this on twitter - "am always shocked at the vicious hatred of me, and other anchors, I find on the net. whats the reason for this hatred from total strangers?"

2. If you were running a party, and your party lost elections in one state, what would you do? You will try to figure out what is wrong there, maybe sack the state level leaders etc. When BJP lost Maharashtra elections, you know what happened? After two months of dilly-dallying, Vasundhara Raje from Rajashtan resigned as the leader of the legislature party!! I mean, could there have been a wronger time to ask for the resignation? And she was asked to resign because of the party's poor showing in Lok Sabha elections in Rajasthan. Wait a minute, but didn't BJP fare badly all over the country? Who will take responsibility for that and resign? I wonder when the BJP realises that it crumbled when in power, and is crumbling further when in opposition. How much more longer before we see some credible leadership in the main opposition party?

3. P. Sainath asked Vilasrao Dehmukh to list five achievements of the Cong- NCP government in Maharashtra. He could not. Sainath said, ok fine, just list one. He could not! That's how bad the government was in that state. Then how come it won? In AP, the opposition vote split and benefitted the Congress. In Maharashtra, the opposition vote split and benefitted the Congress. In Haryana, the opposition vote split and benefitted the Congress. And so the need is for the opposition to unite, which will not happen anyway. One credible opposition party country wide is the need of the hour, but then it now looks like it will take atleast 10 years for that to happen. Until then, it will the Rahul bhajan only.

4. So finally, Jagan Mohan Reddy was told that he will not be made CM of AP. He comes back and holds a press conference. Tells us all that he will abide by Madam's decision and work towards making Rahul G the PM in 2014, because that's what his father wanted. And then he remembered that his father also promised other things, and they are not being implemented. He then tells that he will continue to fight on behalf of the people till those policies are implemented. It doesn't matter that these policies were not implemented while YSR was alive too. And to conclude he warns that whoever is the CM, Rosiah or anyone else, the fight for people's rights will continue. Wow. Instead of co-operating with the government run by his party, he wants to put it in the dock because he is not made the CM. Keep it up, Jagan, for you will be a role model for future aspirants.

5. India's first Woman Grandmaster Koneru Hampi has levelled serious allegations against the Chess authorities. She is losing mental peace because of their high handed behaviour. And the officials are just taking the easy way out, citing some rules. Do we need further proof as to why sports in our country is screwed up?

6. Arundhati Roy is back. I could have quoted her but each line is a gem. Please read the interview here. You will have a good laugh.

1. ఆంధ్రుల అభిమాన హాస్య నటుడు శ్రీ కేసీఆర్ గారు ఈ వారం సరి కొత్త సినిమా ని విడుదల చేసారు. ఈ సినిమా లో విలన్ శ్రీ నార చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు గారు. టిడిపి నేతలు ఉరికే ఉండక, కేసీఆర్ ని రాజీనామా చెయ్యమన్నారు. అంతే, మన అభినమ హాస్య నటుడు పాత్రికేయ సమావేశం పెట్టి, నాకన్నా ఎక్కువ సార్లు రాజీనామా చేసిన మగాడు ఎవరైనా ఉన్నాడా అని ప్రశ్నించారు! రాజీనామా చెయ్యడమే మగతనం అనిపించుకుంటే, నిజమే, మీ అంత మాడు ఎవడు లేడు మొత్తం రాష్ట్రం లో! రాజశేఖర్ ఒకప్పుడు మగాడు అనే సినిమా తీసారు, పెద్ద హిట్ కుడా అయ్యింది. కాని కేసీఆర్ గారి సినిమా ఆ సినిమా రికార్డ్స్ ని తప్పక బద్దలు కొడుతుంది లెండి! వచ్చే వారం ఎం సినిమా విడుదల చేస్తారో వేచి చూద్దాం మరి.

2. ఈయన సినిమా ఇలా ఉంటె, కాంగ్రెస్స్ పార్టీ లో ఇంకో సినిమా నడుస్తుంది. జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి గారు బహిరంగంగా ప్రకటించారు - తనకు ముఖ్యమంత్రి పదవి ఇవ్వటం లేడు కాబట్టి, ఇక మీదట ప్రభుత్వాన్ని ఇరకాటం లో పెడుతూనే ఉంటాను అని! వైఎసార్ హామీ ఇచ్చిన రెండు పధకాలు ఇంకా అమలుకు నోచుకోలేని పరిస్థితి ఉంది అంటే, పోరాడాల్సిన అవసరం ఉంది అని సెలవు ఇచ్చారు. అయితే నాకు ఒక డౌట్. ఆ రెండు హామీలు వైఎసార్ గారు ఉన్నప్పుడు కూడా అమలు కాలేదు కదా. స్వయంగా వైఎసార్ గారే చెప్పారు కదా, ఇచ్చిన హామీలు అయుదు ఏళ్ళల్లో ఎప్పుడు అమలు చేసిన పర్వాలేదు అని, మరి అప్పుడు మీరు ఎక్కడ ఉన్నారు జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి గారు ?

3. అసలు జగన్మోహన్ రెడ్డి గారు నిర్వంచిన పాత్రికేయుల సమావేశం చుస్తే, చిరాకు వచ్చింది. మంత్రులు అంత బాహాటంగా అయన పక్కన నుంచుని ఉండడం ఎటువంటి సంకేతాల్ని ఇస్తుంది అండి? సాక్షాతూ హొం మంత్రి, ఆరోగ్య శాఖ మంత్రి లాంటి వారు కూడా ఎం చెప్పాలో జగన్ కి చెప్తూ ఉంటె చాలా ఎబట్టు గా ఉంది. జగన్ గారు అసలు రోశయ్య గారి పేరు తీసుకోకపోతే, దానం నాగేందర్ గుర్తు చెయ్యవలసి వచ్చింది. అప్పుడు కూడా, జగన్ గారు పెద్ద హీరో లాగ, ఇప్పుడు ఉన్న రోశయ్య గారికి కాని, లేదా అధిష్టానం నిర్యయించే ఏ ముఖ్యమంత్రి కి అయినా పూర్తి మద్దత్తు ఇస్తూనే, వైఎసార్ గారి పధకాలు అమలు అయ్యే వరకు పోరాడుతూనే ఉంటాము అని సెలవు ఇచ్చారు. ఎమెల్యేలు అయితే ఇక చపట్లు కూడా కొడుతునారు ఏంటో మరి ! సాక్షి టీవీ మరియు పత్రిక కూడా ఇంకా ఇదే పంధా లో వెళ్తునాయి లెండి. కర్నూల్ లో ఇంకా బురద ఉంది, ప్రభుత్వం ఎం చేస్తుంది అని సాక్షి టీవీ లో ప్రస్నిచడం జరిగింది. ముందు మీరు మీ ప్రభుత్వం మీదే బురద జల్లడం ఆపితే, ఆ బురద సంగతి ప్రభుత్వం చూసుకుంటుంది లెండి.

4. కోనేరు హంపి ఏ వారం కొన్ని స్సంచలనాత్మకమైన నిజాలు బయట పెట్టింది అండి. తనిఖీ మనశాంతి లేకుండా ఆంద్ర ప్రదేశ్ చెస్ అధికారులు చేస్తున్నారు అనేది దాని సారాంసం. కాని మన దేశాన్ని కి పట్టిన దరిద్రం ఇదే కదా అండి, ఆ అధికారుల్ని ఎవరు శిక్షించారు. హంపి దే తప్పు అని చిత్రకరించి తప్పించుకుంటారు. ఇలా అయితే ఇక మన దేశం లో ఆటలకి భావిస్యతు ఏమి ఉంటది లెండి ?

Well, just realised that I posted 99 times this year: D. And it feels good to touch the 100 mark ;-)

So many points, so little time! : Oct. 11 - 17

1. Chinese government seems to be free these days. And because an idle man's brain is a devil's workshop, it is coming up with all kinds of statements deriding India. The latest in this series is the most hilarious one so far - China objects strongly to Indian PM's visit to Arunachal. hahaha, our PM visiting a part of our country is causing heart burn to the Chinese! Can you now imagine how much free they are? ;-). Quite expectedly, we told them that Arunachal is a part of India. N. Ram, Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu thinks that we have been very sober in our response and that is a very good thing. His newspaper reported that we also took the intitiative in defusing the crisis. I don't get it; if China is precipitating a crisis, why should we take the initiative in defusing it? Shouldn't it be the other way round? On twitter he wrote:"A sensible, sober response by official India to complications and murkiness in India-China relations:". I didn't quite get it and asked him, "why should response be sober? And why should India take that initiative???" Chief replied thus: "Think realistically, figure it out for yourself." If I could figure it out, why will I bother asking him?!

2. 72% of Arunachal Pradesh voted in the assemble elections. Gadricholi district in Maharashtra, which recently saw a police party being ambushed, saw about 60% of polling. Do you want to take a guess, how much percentage of Mumbai voted? 45%. Yes, just 45%. An abysmal 45%. It is a shame on the collective intelligence of the those who haven't voted that they keep quiet with so much injustice happening around. This was your time to wake up and come to vote - you just lost another opportunity.

3. Lahore Court quashes cases against Hafiz Saaed. Wow! That is news. Wait, but isn't it something similar to what we have been hearing from about an year?! Ohh yeah. They don't have enough evidence. And we are giving them a 7th dossier now, with more evidence. I don't understand this, do Pakistanis really want us to believe that there is absolutely no evidence in the 7 dossiers?! And speaking of those attacks, anybody heard of Ajmal Kasab recently? Wonder what's happening on that front?

4. Maldives cabinet decided to meet underwater! And they did it too. Quite exciting, right? They all went underwater, signed an attendance sheet, probably discussed how different life is in there and came out! On a serious note, they did this to emphasize the fact that Maldives is going to sink soon because of global warming effects and therefore the need to preerve it is very important. Perhaps, Nobel Peace Prize winner Barack Obama can quickly act on Climate Change now.

5. Pakistan saw two more bombings this week. Unfortunate that civilians lose their lives for the fantasies of their leaders. And even today, their leaders are not ready to accept that they have egg all over their face. They are still hiding from the truth - evident from their lenient attitude towards Hafiz Saaed.

6. Oops, I almost forgot. Rahul Gandhi has said that Arunachal is a part of India. Cool. The matter rests now. China is satisfied. We have no reason to worry anymore.

1. సీఎం క్యాంప్ ఆఫీస్ అంటే మీకు ఏమి అర్ధం అవుతుంది అండి? సీఎం ఇంటి ఆఫీసు అని. అందులో ఎవరు ఉంటారు అండి? సీఎం కదా ? కాని మన రాష్ట్రం లో సీఎం క్యాంప్ ఆఫీసు లో జగన్మోహనరెడ్డి గారు అతి దారుణంగా తనను సీఎం చెయ్యడానికి రాజకీయాలు నడుపుతున్నారు. అన్తాగా మోజు ఉంటె, ఆ ఇల్లు ఖాళి చేసి, తన ఇంటికి మారి, అక్కడ నుంచి నడిపించుకోవచు కదా రాజాకీయం, ఇలా ప్రభుత్వ ఇంటి నుంచి నడిపించడం ఎంత వరకు సమంజసం? దానికి తోడు అయన డ్రామా చుడలేకపోతున్నాము. అయన హవా భావాలు, ముఖ కవలిఖలు, అన్ని చిరాకు తెప్పిస్తున్నాయి. పెద్ద పెద్ద యాక్టర్స్ ని తల దన్నె లాగ ఉంది ఈయన యాక్టింగ్! ఈయన వర్గాన్ని కి అయితే అసలు సిగ్గే లేదు, ఇలా వరదలు కొంచం తగ్గు ముఖం పట్టాయో లేదో, మళ్ళి గళం ఎత్తారు - జగన్ సీఎం అని. అసలు వరదలు వచ్చినందుకు అందరి కంటా వీళ్ళే బాధ పడిఉంటారు - నాలుగు రోజులు జగన్ ని పొగడలేకపోయారు కదా పాపం! వరదలు తగ్గాలని అందరికంటే ముందు వీళ్ళే కోరుకున్నారు; ప్రజలు కోసం కాదు, వీళ్ళ స్వార్ధం కోసం!

2. ఆంధ్రుల అభిమాన హాస్య రాజకీయ నటుడు, శ్రీ కేసీఆర్ గారు ఈ వారం టీవీ 9 లో దర్సనం ఇచ్చారు. ఇంత ముందు తాగే వాడిని, డాక్టర్ గారు ఇప్పుడు మానేయమని చెప్పారు, కాబట్టి ఇక మందు జోలి కి వెళ్ళటం లేదు అని సెలవు ఇచ్చారు! అంటే, ఏమిటి అండి ? ఇన్నాళ్ళు మందు మత్తు లో పని చేసినట్ట? ఇన్నాళ్ళు ప్రజా జీవితం లో తప్ప తాగి ప్రవర్తించినట్ట ? ఈయన రాజకీయాల్లో ఉన్ననంత కాలం, మనకి మాత్రం కామెడి కి కొదవ లేదు అని మాత్రం కచ్చితం గా చెప్పగలం!

3. కృష్ణ వంశి గారు కొత్త సినిమా ఒకటి తీసారు. పేరు మహాత్మా. అందులో అసలు గాంధీ ఎవరు అనే భావం వచ్చేటట్టు గా ఒక పాట రాసారు, సిరివెన్నల సీతారామశాస్త్రి గారు. మొదటి లైన్ "ఇందిరమ్మ ఇంటి పేరు కాదు రా గాంధి" . నిజమే కదండీ ? కాని సెన్సార్ బోర్డు మాత్రం ఆ వాక్యాన్ని తీసేయమంది అంట! ఎంత దరిద్రం అండి బాబు మన దేశం లో ఇలాంటి ఆంక్షలు. నిజాలు చెప్పడానికి కూడా భయపడాలి ఇంకా!

4. ఈనాడు, ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి యాజమాన్యాలు ప్రస్తుతానికి కొంచం రెస్ట్ తీసుకుంటున్నాయి. ఎందుకో తెలుసా ? వాళ్ళు చేసే పని ని సాక్షి చేస్తుంది కాబట్టి! నిజం - రాష్ట్ర ప్రభుత్వానికి అతి పెద్ద ప్రతిపక్షం సాక్షి! నెల రోజుల ముందు వరకు కనిపించని ఎన్నో అక్రమాలు, సడ్దన్ గా ఇప్పడు సాక్షి కి కనిపించేస్తున్నాయి. అవకసవాదనికి రాజకీయ నాయకుల కన్నా మించి ఉదాహరణం ఎవరైనా అడిగితె, తప్పకుండ సాక్షి పేరు చెప్పండి. మీకే మొదటి బహుమతి వస్తుంది !
