అదన్నమాట! : ఆగస్ట్ ౩౦ - సెప్టెంబర్ 5

1. ఈ వారం లో చోటు చేసుకున్న సంఘటనలు ఇంతకు ముందు ఎప్పుడు జరిగిన ఆనవాలు లేవు. పదవి లో ఉన్నముఖ్యమంత్రి చనిపోవడం ఇదే మొదటి సారి. అదీ ఇలాంటి దుర్ఘటన లో చనిపోవడం దురదృష్టకరం. సాధారణ సంఘటనలకే అత్యుత్శాహం ప్రదర్శించే మీడియా ఈ సారి మాత్రం చాలా సమంవయం పాటించింది అనే చెప్పాలి. ఒక్క టీవీ9 తప్ప. "వై యస్ కోసం యుద్ధం" అంటూ ఇలాంటి పరిస్థితుల్లో కూడా కాప్షన్లకి ప్రాధాన్యం ఇవ్వడమే కాకుండా, "ముఖ్యమంత్రి క్యాంపు ఆఫీసు దగ్గర అభిమానుల "సందడి" నేలకుంది " లాంటి అసందర్భ పదాల్ని కూడా వాడేసింది టీవీ9 . రాష్ట్ర ప్రజలు ఎంతో excited గా ఉన్నారు అని కూడా మనకి సెలవు ఇవడం జరిగింది. ఆ తరువాత తప్పు తెలుసుకుని anxiety కి మార్చారు సదరు న్యూస్ రీడర్. మామూలు సందర్భాల్లో అయితే ఒక ముఖ్యమైన వార్త వచ్చినప్పుడు ప్రేక్షకుల్ల్నిఆకట్టుకోవడానికి ఇలాంటివి చెయ్యడం సహజం, దానికి మనకి ఎవ్వరికి అభ్యంతరం కూడా ఉండదు. కాని విషాదాన్ని కూడా అదే విధంగా చూపించడం ఒక్క tv9 కే చెల్లింది. ఇంతకు ముందు చిరంజీవి కూతురు పెళ్లి విషయం అప్పుడు ఇంతే, ఇప్పుడు ముఖ్యమంత్రి మరణం అప్పుడు కూడా అంతే. అప్పుడప్పుడు ఇతర చానెల్స్ ని చూసి నేర్చుకోవడం లో తప్పు లేదు, ఆ విషయం తెలుసుకో tv9.

2. దీని కంటే దారుణమైన విషయం ఇంకోటి జరిగింది అండి. ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారి పార్థివ శరీరం ఇంకా హైదరాబాద్ చేరుకునే లేదు, కాంగ్రెస్స్ వాళ్ళు కుమ్ములాట మొదలుపెట్టేసారు. ఈ కుమ్ములాతుఅను అయితే వై యస్ ఆర్ అనచివేసారో, అదే కుమ్ములాట అయిన మరణ వార్త విన్న రెండు మూడు ఘంటల్లోనే మొదలు అయ్యిపోయింది. ఆవేశం లో కొంత మంది జగన్ కి ముఖ్యమంత్రి పగ్గాలు ఇవ్వమని కోరడం సహజం, కాని ఎక్కడ దారుణం అనిపించింది అంటే చీఫ్ విప్ భట్టి విక్రమార్క గారు ఏకంగా ఎమెల్యేల సంతకాలు సేకరించే పనిలో పడ్డారు అంట! వైఎస్ దేహం అయన ఇంటికి వచ్చేసరికి 122 ఎమెల్యేల సంతకాలు సేకరించారు అంట కూడా. ఒక మంత్రి ఏమో జగన్ సీయం అవ్వకపోతే ఇంకా రాజీనామా అని అంటారు, ఇంకో నాయకుడు ఏమో ఏకంగా రాష్ట్రం లో శాంతి భద్రతలకి భంగం కలిపిస్తం అంటారు. మనకి ఉన్న కష్టాలు చాలక అండి, కొత్త సమస్యలు సృష్టిస్తునారు వీళు. కనీసం సంతాప దినాలు అయ్యిపోయేవరకు అయిన ఆగచ్చు కదండీ ? ఇలాంటి వికృత చేష్టలు చేస్తే, రాజకీయాలు మీద చిరాకు రాక ఏమవుతుంది ?

3. ఎంత వై ఎస్ ఆర్ తో విభేదించినా ఇలాంటి మృత్యువు రావడం కొంచం బాధ కలిగించే విషయమే. విడిగా ఇంకో వ్యాసం రాసాను అయన మీద. ఇక్కడ క్లిక్ చెయ్యండి.

The hard reality…

So much has been written and so much has been shown about the life and times of the departed Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, YSR. There is really nothing much I can add to the immense flow of tributes and information for the past 48 hours.

The fact that I have multiple ideological differences with him does not allow me to forget the fact that this leader rose from the people and lived for them. It is no mean task to become a representative for a constituency. To be able to sustain and improve with each victory is certainly much more difficult than just winning once. Only those who rise from the bottom of the hierarchy can quickly catch the pulse of the people and read the mind of the cadre. We have some very fine examples of such leaders in the country, and surely YSR is on that list.

He took on the mighty and the then percieved to be invincible Chandrababu Naidu head on and went on to become the Chief Minister in 2004, and became solely responsible for literally holding the party's hand and guiding it through the 5 years of power. In his term, the internal bickering that has been the trademark of the Congress party for decades died slowly. We can now clearly see how his absence for just two days is bringing back memories of the old Congress. Single handedly, he lead the party through another election victory becoming the first CM in the history of the state to complete a full five year term and then lead the party to victory again.

Irony of fate is sometimes just very cruel. The same rains that co-operated with him for his entire first term in governance have become the bane when it came to his own life. To have lived like that and to have died this way is just a grim reminder of the unfairness of life.

The controversies surrounding him notwithstanding, it is the truth that he has influenced tens of lakhs of people; it is a fact that about one and half crore people accepted him as their leader; unfortunately, such a leader will be hard to replace, that is the hard reality.

వై.ఎస్.ఆర్

విధి వెక్కిరింపు కొన్ని సార్లు చాల దిగ్బ్రాంతి కి గురి చేస్తుంది. ఎ వర్షం అయితే తన అభివృధి ఆలోచనలన్నీ సాకారం అవ్వడానికి తోడ్పడిందో, అదే వర్షం ఇవ్వాళ ముఖ్యమంత్రి రాజశేఖర రెడ్డి అకాల మరణానికి దారి తీసింది.

ప్రజా నాయకుడు అవ్వడం అనేది చిన్న విషయం కాదు. రాజకీయాలు మీద సాధారణ ప్రజానికానికి ఎంత చులకన భావన ఉన్నా, నియోజకవర్గపు జనం కి ప్రాతినింధ్యం సంపాదించడానికి చాల కష్ట పడాల్సి వస్తుంది. రాజకీయ నాయకుడు అవ్వడం ఒక ఎత్తు అయితే, ఈ రంగం లో ఎదగడం ఇంకో ఎత్తు. అంచెలు అంచెలు గా ఎదిగి పైకి వచ్చే వారే ప్రజల నాడి ని కాని, కార్యకర్త ఆలోచన ని కాని వెంటనే పసి గట్టగలరు; తద్వారా వాళ్ళ సంక్షేమం కోసం సులువు గా ఆలోచించగలరు. ఇలా అంచెలు అంచెలు గా పైకి వచ్చిన నేతే ముఖ్యమంత్రి రాజశేఖర రెడ్డి గారు.

అయిన రాజకీయాల్లో ఎదిగిన వైనం, తన పాదయాత్ర తో సృష్టించిన సంచలనం, వరసు విజయాల తో నెల్కొపిన చరిత్ర ఎప్పటికి చిరస్తాయి గానే మిగిలిపోతాయి. విభేదాలు తో కురుకిపోయి ఉన్నా కాంగ్రెస్స్ పార్టి ని ఒంటి చేత్తో, నాయకులందరిని ఒకే తాటి పై నడిపించిన ఘనత ఆయనకే చెల్లింది. ప్రతి మనిషి కి బలం బలహీనత రెండు ఉంటాయి. అయినతో ఆలోచనా పరంగా చాల సార్లు విభేదించినా, లక్షలాది మందికి అయినా ఆదర్శం గా నిలిచారు అన్నది సత్యం, కోట్లాది మందికి అయిన నాయకత్వం మీద నమ్మకం ఉంది అన్నది నిజం. అలాంటి నాయకుడు మళ్ళి రాడు అనేది కఠోర వాస్తవం.

So many points, so little time! : Aug 23- 29

1. Till very recently, 100 days functions were associated only with movies. But with the advent of our ever vigilant TV media, 100 days is a milestone in the life a 5 year old government too! All 100 day discussion lead to the inevitable conclusion – this time period is too short to judge. Pray why then, do we even bother to have these debates? A day is not too far away when 1 year will also be considered too short to judge!
   

2. The country seems to be going through a 11 year old syndrome. Ok, excuse that poor(est) joke ;-). Anyway, let me explain. All along, we have had huge debates about what happened with respected to the Kandahar incident that happened about 10 years ago. And suddenly this week, reputed scientist K. Santhanam goes on record saying Pokhran was not successful! It took a full barrage of eminent people to come out and refute his claim. So, I was just wondering that why is it that all those things that happened some 10-11 years ago are suddenly becoming hot topics for discussion, and hence the attempt to joke in the opening sentence: D
   

3. Speaking of Kandahar, Advani is in an even tighter spot (than he was in the elections). It was very clear at that time too, that he was trying to take the high moral ground on the hijack. Instead of explaining in detail what happened, he simply chose to say I don't know! With Jaswant Singh, Yashwant Sinha and George Fernandes saying otherwise, the spotlight is back on Advani now. The people of the country have spoken just 3 months back – they don't want Advani as the PM. Yet, we don't want the debate to die down. Nidhi Razdan of the NDTV was furious at Chandan Mitra trying to defend Advani. What did you expect Nidhi? That Chandan will come and say – ohh yeah, we did the wrong spin. We apologize for that. ? Why didn't you want to learn from Shekar Gupta on your show, who was speaking in such a respectable yet candid manner about the happenings in BJP? It looked like as if it was his show, and you were one of the panelists!
   

4. The reverred Tirumala temple has been in the news for all the wrong reasons. Well, what would you expect when you appoint a politician, whose credentials are anything but worth noting, as the head of the TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams). For those of you who don't know this guy, he was in the TDP and was one of the two MP's who switched loyalties during the trust vote in Parliament in 2008. This guy was made the chairman of TTD and the other guy was made the state government's representative at the centre. Two plum postings, but then nobody should question this kind of luring. Afterall, it does not involve direct money. And true to his personality, the CM of AP has rubbished off these happenings in the TTD.
   

5. Disgraced Pakistan Scientist, A.Q.Khan has been allowed by the court to roam around in the country freely. And then Mr. Khan also threatened that if the government opposes this ruling, he will reveal "sensitive secrets." So, till now you secretly revealed secrets to other countries, and now you want to do it publicly. Way to go, Mr. Khan!
   

అదన్నమాట! : ఆగస్ట్ 23-29

1. రచ్చ గెలిచాం, ఇక ఇంట గెలుద్దాం! పోయిన వారం లో రవీంద్ర భారతి లో తెలుగు భాష ప్రశస్తి మీద ఒక నృత్య రూపకం ప్రదర్శించడం జరిగింది. ఒక నృత్య రూపకం చూడడం ఇదే మొదటి సారి నాకు. అదీ బాష మీద అంటే ఎలాగ ఉంటాదో అనే ఆసక్తి తో వెళ్ళాను. ఒక ఆలోచన కి వాచికం, ఆంగికం తోడు అయితే ఆ ఆలోచన ని ఎంత ముచ్చట గా తీర్చిదిద్దవచ్చో ఈ రూపకం చూసాక అర్ధం అయ్యింది. కావాలి అంటే ఒక స్లైడ్ షో గా పెట్టి చుపించేయచ్చు, కాని ఇలా మన కళ సహకారం తో భావాన్ని వ్యక్తపరచడం అనేది అంత సులువు అయిన పని ఏమి కాదు. తెలుగు బాష ప్రయాణాన్ని అత్యుతమ ప్రమాణాలతో నృత్యకారులు, చిన్న పిల్లలు, కళ్ళకు అద్దినట్టు చూపించారు. రచన గురుంచి ప్రత్యేకంగా చెప్పాలి. మన బాష కే పరిమితమైన ప్రాస ని చాల చక్కగా వాడి, ప్రేక్షకులలో ఒక రకమైన ఆనందాన్ని నింపారు. గౌతమి పుత్ర శాతకర్ణి హయాం లో తెలుగు బాష ఎలా వెలిగిందో చాల చక్కటి అభియనం తో చూపించారు. అన్ని నృత్యాలలో ఈ భాగం చాల బాగుంది. చివరికి, మాత్రు బాష ని చిన్న చూపు చూడవద్దు అన్న విన్నపం తో ఈ రూపకం ముగిసింది. ఈ మధ్యే తెలుగు కి ప్రాచీన హొదా కలిపించారు. ఆ సందర్భాన్ని దృష్తి లో పెట్టుకుని, ముఖ్య అతిధి గా వచ్చిన మండలి బుద్ధ ప్రసాద్ గారు ఇలా చెప్పారు - రచ్చ గెలిచాం, ఇక ఇంట గెలుద్దాం ! నిజమే, మన బాష మీద మన వాళ్ళకు ఉన్న అంత వ్యతిరేకత మరే బాష వాళ్ళకి ఉండదు ఏమో. పరాయి బాష ని నేర్చుకోవద్దు అని కాని, గౌరవించవద్దు అని కాని ఇక్కడ చెప్పటం లేదు. మనం పుట్టి పెరిగిన బాష మీద అంత అభద్రతా భావం ఎందుకో?

2. "నవ్వడం ఒక భోగం, నవ్వలేకపోవడం ఒక రోగం". ఈ మాట ఎ కామెడి ఆర్టిస్ట్ అనలేదు అండి. జంధ్యాల గారు ఈ వాక్యాన్ని ప్రసిద్ది లోకి తెచ్చాక, మొట్ట మొదటి సారిగా అసందర్భంగా సాక్షాత్తు మన ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారే వాడరు. ప్రతి దానికి అల నవ్వుతూనే ఉంటారు అని నాయుడు గారు ఎద్దేవా చేస్తే, రెడ్డి గారు పై విధంగా స్పందించారు. నిజమే ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారు, నవ్వడం ఒక భోగమే , కాని ప్రతి విషయానికి నవ్వడాన్ని ఏమని అంటారో మాకు తెలిదు, దయ చేసి అదీ కూడా కొంచం సెలవు ఇస్తారా? విపక్షాలు లేవనెత్తే ప్రతి విషయం మీకు హాస్యాస్పదమే అనిపిస్తే, సూటి గా ఆ మాటే చెప్పచ్చు కద?

3. అసెంబ్లీ లో జెపి గారు ఒక బిల్ ని వ్యతిరేకిస్తూ, ఇది రాజ్యాంగానికి విరుద్దంగా అని ఉంది అని చెప్పారు. ప్రభుత్వ సమాధానం ఏంటో తెలుసా ? అయితే కోర్ట్ కి వెళ్ళండి ! మంత్రి గారే ఇలా సమాధానం చెప్పితే ఇంకా ఎవడికి చెప్పికుంటాం ? మా ఇష్టం వచ్చినట్లు చేస్తాం, ఎం చేసుకుంటారో చేసుకోండి అన్న ముఖ్యమంత్రి గారి వ్యక్తిత్వం ఇప్పుడు మంత్రులు కి కూడా అంటుకుంటుంది అన్నమాట.

4. బాలకృష్ణ కి పార్టి లో పెద్ద స్థానం ఈ ఇస్తునారు అని చాల ఉహాగానాలు వచ్చాయి ఈ వారం లో. ఇది ఒక్కటే మిగిలింది మనకి చూడడానికి ఇంకా.అయిన వచ్చాక ఇంకెన్ని చిత్రాలు చూడాల్సి వస్తుందో మనకి మరి ! తలుచుకుంటేనే భయం వేస్తుంది!

5. పిఅర్పి పెట్టి మొన్న 26 కి ఏడాది గడిచింది. చిరంజీవి గారు, ఈ ఏడాది లో మీరు సాదించింది దాదాపు శూన్యం, పోగాట్టుకుంది మాత్రం చాల అమితం. వచ్చే ఏడాది కల్లా మీరు చేసిన తప్పులు నుంచి ఎలా బయటకు వస్తారో చూడాలని ఉంది.

So many points, so little time! : Aug 16-22

1. If you are still wondering why sports in India doesn't flourish, here's further proof. Badminton officials forgot the e-mail Saina's entry to the Chinese Open. Yes, you read it right - they forgot! They will not "forget" to collect commissions or secure passes for tournaments. But sending an entry, yes, that they will forget! I don't even know whether to laugh at their negligence and feel frustrated at their complacence.

2. Jinnah, Jinnah, Jinnah. This week was all about Jinnah! While a section was busy discussing whether he should be reviled or not, another section was discussing if he was alone responsible for the partition. See, this was what was taught to us in schools. "Jinnah wanted Pakistan, and to avoid bloodshed, Gandhi accepted. And so Nehru became PM of India". That's it. So we all grew up thinking Jinnah was the villian. And then came along the internet, and along with it, wonderful flow of information. And then slowly we started to read different versions of the history, and then we are now in a position to actually admit that Jinnah alone was not responsible for that gory decision.

The Hindu reproduced it's 1948 editorial after Jinnah's death. The one line that wil forever stay in my mind is this - "And the dream became a reality overnight, and perhaps no man was more surprised at his success than Mr. Jinnah himself." Who were those who were responsible for his dream to turn into reality so quickly? Can a country really be formed "overnight"? Does that mean that whoever agreed to give was just waiting for the other side to ask, so as to escape vilification? Why are we shying away from talking about it? If you are eulogizing Jinnah, does that imply Nehru and Gandhi are solely at fault?

3. Well, talking about Jinnah controversy and not talking about what started all this would not make the story complete! Jaswant Singh wrote a book about Jinnah. First, the BJP expels him. Then the Gujarat government bans the book in Gujarat! Those who read it say that Nehru was equally criticised, Sardar Patel was not referred in critical tone, and Jinnah was not eulogised. But, BJP President, Rajnath Singh is neither ready to listen to logic nor sanity. There were multiple reasons why Jaswant could have been expelled from the party, but the fact that this reason was given shows the depths to which Rajnath can plunge too. And he is also training his guns on Vasundhara Raje now. So, who's next Mr. Rajnath? You know what, I have an idea. Why not you?

4. Living up to family's name is a tough job. Imagine how tough it is to live up to your actual name! Usain Bolt is precisely doing that. I mean, 9.58 seconds to run 100m ?!@#@ 19.19s to run 200 metres?!?!@ What, is this a fantasy world for him? And now, he wants to go to 9.4! We would love to see that happen, and that too soon. Or should we say, at "lighting bolt" speed ;-)!

అదన్నమాట! : ఆగస్ట్ 16-22

1. మల్లి ఈ వారం కూడా అసెంబ్లీ గురుంచే రాయాల్సి వస్తుందేమో అనుకుంటున్నా తరుణం లో ఈనాడు ఒక రాజకీయ మలుపు ఇచ్చింది. గురువారం సంచిక లో "జెండా పీకేద్దామా " అంటూ పతాక శీర్షిక రాసింది ! ప్రజా రాజ్యం పార్టి ఎమ్యెల్యేలు కొంత మంది అల్లు అరవింద్ ని కలిసి కాంగ్రెస్ లోకి పార్టి ని విలనీయం చేస్తే మంచిది అని చెప్పినట్టు, దానికి అల్లు ఒక నెల గడువు ఇవ్వండి అన్నట్టు ఆ వార్త లో ఉంది. ఒక్క సారి గా ఇక అందరి ద్రుష్టి చిరంజీవి గారి మీదకి మళ్ళింది. గత సంవత్సర కాలం లో ఏనాడు లేని విధంగా మొట్ట మొదటి సారి అయిన మనసులోంచి మాట్లాడారు ! పత్రికల్ని ఉతికి ఆరేసారు. రాజకీయ భవిష్యతు, ముందు ముందు చెయ్యాల్సిన కార్యక్రమాలు గురుంచి చర్చించడానికి కలిస్తే, ఇంత దారుణంగా రాస్తారా అని వాపోయారు కూడా. అయిన ఆవేదన చూసి కృంగి ఉన్న శ్రేన్నులో కూడా ఒక్క సారి గా ఉపు వచ్చింది అంట!

2. నాది ఒక ప్రశ్న. కాదు లెండి, చాల ప్రశ్నలు. అసెంబ్లీ జరుగుతున్న సమయం లో, రాష్ట్రం లో కరువు ఉన్న సమయం లో, దరిదాపు లో ఎన్నికలు లేని సమయం లో, మీ పార్టి లో మూడో వంతు ఏమ్యేల్యేలకు "రాజకీయ భవిష్యతు" గురుంచి మాట్లాడే దుస్థితి ఏమి వచ్చింది చిరంజీవి గారు? అదీ అర్ధరాత్రి? మీరు ఎం చేదం అనుకుంటున్నారో మీకే తెలియనప్పుడు ఇలాంటి ఉహాగానాలె పుడతాయి మరి. ఈనాడు హెడ్లైన్ చాల తప్పు, నేను ఒప్పుకుంట. దాని వెనక వ్యూహం ఉండే ఉంటె, అది చాల దారుణంగా బెడిసి కొట్టింది అని కూడా అందరం చూసాం. కాని, అటువంటి పరిస్థితులకు మీరు మీ పార్టి నీ తీసుకు వచ్చారు అన్నది మాత్రం పచ్చి నిజం.

3. రాష్ట్రం లో 56% తక్కువ వర్ష పాతం నమోదు అయ్యింది. అయిన మన ముఖ్య మంత్రి గారు కరువు ప్రకటించారు అంట. పై పెచు, కరువు ఉంది కరువు ఉంది అని మనం అందరం అరుస్తునందుకే రైతులు ఆత్మహత్యలు చేసుకుంటారు అంట! కరువు ప్రకటిస్తే బ్యాంక్లు రుణాలు ఇవ్వవు అంట, అందుకని ప్రకటన ఇవ్వట్లేదు అంట! ముఖ్యమత్రి గారు, వర్షాలు పడకపోతే రైతు అసలు ఋణం ఏమి చెప్పి తీసుకుంటాడు అండి? మీరు ప్రకటించే కరువు ఖరిఫ్ సాగు కి. అదీ ప్రకటిస్తే, బ్యాంక్లు రబీ సాగు కి ముందే రుణాలు ఇస్తాయి. ఖరిఫ్ పంట ఎలాగో ఇంకో వారం లో అయ్యిపోతుంది. కనీసం మీరు కరువు ప్రకటిస్తే, కేంద్రం నుంచి అయిన సహాయం అంద్తుంది కదా ? కరువు ప్రకటిస్తే ఎంతో కంత మంచే జరుగుతుంది కాని చెడు ఎందుకు జరుగుతుంది ?

4. ఎ మాట కి ఆ మాట చెప్పుకోవాలి, చిరంజీవి గారు కరువు మీద జరిగిన చర్చ ని చాల అద్భుతంగా అభివర్ణించారు. "కరువు ముగుస్తుంది ఏమో కానీ, చర్చ ముగిసే లాగా లేదు" అని చెప్పారు! అక్షర సత్యం. మంత్రులు అందరిది ఒకటే బాట - చంద్రబాబు నాయుడు ని తూర్పారబట్టడం. ఎటువంటి సమస్య అన్యిన సరే, తిప్పి తిప్పి నాయుడు గారి దగ్గరకి తెస్తారు. గొడవ అవుతుంది. సభ వాయదా పడుతుంది. అదన్నమాట!

Who is more hilarious?

"Because my name is Khan" ran some headlines on TV channels. Then we had "exclusives" with Shahrukh from the US, who tried to explain what happened. And then our media drew it's own conclusion, and then ran the story for a full 2 days (including independence day). And then guess what - On the third day, the media asks us if we over-reacted!

I am no big fan of Shahrukh, but what really bothers me is the media's US-is always-right-with-security-measures attitude. Not one channel ran a complete story, not one channel tried to ascertain what exactly happened.

1. What was Shahrukh questioned for 2 hours?
2. Why did it take 2 hours to figure out he is innocent (I think they had to stop questioning because the Embassy intervened, else it might have taken longer)?
3. In some cases, I have read, that questioning takes more than 2 hours too. Is there a set procedure that the US officials follow when asking questions, or is it random?
4. Is the possibility of the questions being irrelevant and embarassing nil and totally absent?
5. Shahrukh himself said that he is not against questioning, but he is hurt by silly and irrelevant questions. Is it a sin to contemplate thinking for a moment he might actually be saying the truth?
6. Maybe because he is a celebrity, we are coming to know that something might be wrong with the questioning process. Or maybe there is nothing wrong, but shouldn't we atleast debate it?

None of these questions seemed to have mattered to our media, and Sagarika Ghose in particular. In what is her favorite topic, she again rants on her blog here about how stupid Shahrukh Khan has been in dealing with the whole issue. Sagarika, I don't think anybody with a sane mind would endorse any kind of discrimination even if it were to have happened in India. So, your generalization that we should keep quiet because Indians also discriminate is plain naive. Shahrukh never said "no checks please, I am a bollywood star", but as is your wont, you created it for a catchy headline!

Worse, you even suggest that we should have a "Let's stand in a queue day" just like we have Independence Day and Republic Day. I will leave it to the judgement of the reader as to where you would want to rate this comment in the world of ridicule. Shame on you Sagarika, for equating Independence Day with something that does not even qualify to be a joke in a comic book.

Would you kindly bother to answer the above questions, Sagarika?

PS: Why should Shahrukh not talk about "geo-politics, international diplomacy"? Does it hurt your ego that someone is more hilarious in these matters than you are?
